Drug Prevention & Safety Awareness
At the Lāna‘i Youth Center, our Drug Prevention Program is dedicated to empowering youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to make healthy, informed choices. This program focuses on early education, open conversations, and positive peer engagement to help young people understand the real risks of substance use and develop the tools to resist peer pressure.
Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and engaging activities, participants learn about the short- and long-term effects of drugs and alcohol, how to handle difficult social situations, and the importance of self-respect and goal setting. We also highlight the value of building strong connections—with family, friends, and the community—as a protective factor against risky behaviors.
Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where youth feel heard, respected, and motivated to lead a drug-free lifestyle. By promoting healthy alternatives and encouraging leadership and decision-making skills, we help guide our youth toward a brighter, more resilient future.
